Before you install fake grass in Perth you will need the proper tools for the job. Please see the list of tools above.
Most outdoor applications require preparation of an aggregate base to allow proper water drainage. Simply clear the surface where your Rex Turf will be placed, removing any unwanted grass and roots. Once clear, add a two to four-inch layer of crushed aggregate until achieving the desired shape and contour. Work the aggregate with a rake and hand tamp until the surface is compact and smooth.
With the base ready, position your Rex Turf and trim to shape. If using more than one roll of Rex Turf, make sure the “grain” of the grass fibers point in the same direction.
To tape Rex Turf together, align two pieces of Rex Turf edge-to-edge. Fold back the edges to lay Rex Turf self adhesive tape the length of the seam.
After a few minutes, slowly ease the two edges back together, checking the fit as you go.
To secure your Rex Turf, use 150mm U pins around the perimeter and where necessary to keep your Rex Turf flat.
Once your artificial grass is in place and has been secured with your U pins it's important to start the sand infill process. Apply white silica sand roughly 8-10kg per square meter and broom the sand into the turf going against the grain.
Finally use a landscape rake or broom to brush the fibers up and rinse with a garden hose. Periodic brushing and rinsing will keep your Rex Turf looking fresh, natural and beautiful for years to come.
